NO!!

I got my first "NO" from Ramey after dinner the other day....


She wasn't eating very well and I tried offering her more food and she clearly said "NO" and pushed the food away. I was in shock (not really, I knew this day would come) and said to Ron, "she just told me NO" His response was "won't be the last time" Boy how right he was!! I wouldn't say she says it a lot but it is heard throughout the day.


We were walking back from breakfast and Ron was carrying her and giving her a little tickle, she got tired of the game and started telling him "no" when he would go in for a tickle.


Other new words:
help (elp, teachers at school first thought she was making a dog noise)

shoe (which she will bring you and insist they are put on, oh and always it is a matching pair)

A well household

For the past two weeks, we've been fighting various illnesses...

The girls took me out to high tea for my birthday so it was a daddy-daughter day (with some time with Uncle Brendan too!!) Thought things were going great as hadn't heard anything, that was till I got the text that said: "Ramey just threw up on me"

And then it began... we stayed home from school that Monday and we were sent home on Wednesday... not because of Ramey but because now mommy was sick... not even keeping down water :-( It's not easy being sick and taking care of a 17 month old, did lose 4lbs!!! (don't worry, it's all back now!) It took some time but we slowly started feeling better... Then Saturday morning, Ramey woke with a cough which I wasn't sure if it was in her chest or not and Friday night she had a low grade fever, so... good thing our ped has Saturday hours!! So off to the ped we go... Luckily not in her chest, just your run of the mill URI... no meds, just lots of fluids and run a humidifier...

She seemed better the rest of the weekend and the cough is slowly going away!!!

Then Thursday came... Ron woke up with what he thought was food poisoning... but we had the same thing and I felt fine... I think it was the stomach bug... either way he is feeling better and I now have clean sheets and a clean bathroom (thanks honey!!!) as I refused to be in the same room as him till he was better and the room cleaned!!

Hoping we stay healthy this weekend!! (Especially since the sun is finally shining and it's not below freezing, may have to head to the park after nap!)

BOY... oh... BOY

Ramey is pleased to announce she is having a baby BROTHER in July...

Doesn't she look excited?!?!

(official due date is Aug 1st, but will be a schedule c/s, most likely the last week of July)

Anyway... we were very surprised to learn that we were expecting again and we have recently learned its a BOY!!!

8 weeks

11 weeks

looks like he's a thumb sucker!!!

I am finished with my first trimester (15 weeks as of sunday)... which was rough!!! And am starting to get some energy back, still nauseous every once in awhile but overall feeling good!!! (other than the mild cold/sinus thing I have... ugh) Haven't gained much weight (must be all the running around I do chasing a 16 month old!!) but only time will tell on that one but am starting to "show" although most of my pants still fit (think I may carry higher this time around?!?) Starting to feel teeny tiny flutters (either that or it's gas bubbles...hee hee hee) thus making it more real every day. Will have to take a belly pic soon and upload my u/s.

The little man will have a cousin close in age (only 2 months older), good/bad thing... it's a boy, guess we won't be getting those hand-me-downs, but I'm sure they will be great buddies growing up!

Loving my temperpedic bed though!!! Maybe this time around Ron will be able to sleep in our room the entire pregnancy!!! (unlike with Ramey, where the pillows took up the whole bed and he got kicked out!!) Sleeping great at night, yet still tired... making a life takes a lot out of you!!!

Ok, so it took my another 2 weeks to finially post this... alright almost 2 as tomorrow I'm 18 weeks... opps!!! (oh and still having sinus issues, ugh!)

Why our neighbor must hate us

This was Ramey all weekend... yesterday it was the popper... back and forth; back and forth; back and forth

Today it was the walker/car

Pitstop... time to RUN up and down the hallway

Switched to action mode on camera as she was going to fast for standard mode

Wait, let me close the door... promise I won't slam it... This time...

And we're off again...

She has already master the art of aerodynamics for increased speed

Everywhere she went this weekend she had the car with her... no wonder our neighbor is talking about moving!!

We really need warmer weather so we can go outside and do this...

My Monkey... literally

Ramey is our monkey... now literally.

She has really started to climb on anything and everything. She can easily get on the couch and the ottoman...

And the kitchen counter!!! (with a little help from her kitchen table)

I guess she thought the counter needed to be cleaned!

She started by climbing on the chairs, then the table then onto the kitchen counter... Took the chairs away, made her mad but didn't stop her... she was able to climb up from just the table!!!

The table and chairs have since been relocated!! (sorry monkey!)

We have a new obsession:

SHOES!!!

Over the weekend, Ramey kept bringing us shoes... her shoes, my shoes, Ron's shoes...

She even decided she needed to wear daddy's!!Don't mind the hair... not sure what we are going to do with it but do know we are in desperate need of a hair cut! Thank goodness for barrettes, bows and ponytail (or pig tails... see next post!!)

Better late than never...

We had a very nice Christmas and New's Years.

Grandma Betty flew up on Christmas Eve and we had a nice dinner at home with her and Uncle Brendan. Ramey had a blast opening the presents... she didn't really care what was inside, she just enjoyed tearing the paper.

(she loves it now... especially throwing it on the floor to make it "dance & sing")

The rest of the weekend was very nice. Aunt Donna came up on Saturday. We all had a great time. Due to the weather and snow we stuck close to home but it was nice to have visitors


New Year's was very low key at the Swan household. Uncle Brendan came over so mom and dad were able to go to a movie (Sherlock Holmes) and dinner. No need for a clock to tell you when the stroke of midnight is in Chicago... The screaming and fireworks awoke me from my slumper... Happy New Year

Blabber Mouth

Since Ramey got her tubes, she has been babbling a ton!!! I really wish I could understand what she is saying!

I swear I've heard her say "thank you" (and at appropriate times!!) and "hi guys" and "adios" (along with waving)

She really likes to say "uh-oh" even when she throws the cup across the room... I have to reminder her "Uh-oh" is when something happens on accident not when you purposely drop/throw something... oh well... we'll keep working on it.

Plus most 4 legged animals are being called doggie. She loves to look out the window and point at the doggies that walk by. Speaking of doggies... she is lovin' her Lefty and lovin' climbing on her. Every now and then I find her sitting on the dogs back... It's a good thing we "tortured" her when she was a puppy
